Woodlands Pre-School and Nursery was successful in its bid for Early Years Capital Grant in August 2016 and with the Education Funding Agency Grant and in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council, is upgrading its building which is designed to meet the needs of modern day nursery specifications. This education rebuild project was one of only three awarded in the county and was completed over the summer and opened in September 2018.
Emma Stone, Nursery Manager said ‘Our new provision is designed to meet the needs of modern day nursery specifications providing the most up-to-date standards for childcare excellence and safety, in addition to supporting our staff to meet early years education requirements. We are now fully prepared to deliver the 30 hours free childcare entitlement and look forward to welcoming parents to Woodlands.’
Terry Douris, Cabinet Member for Education for Hertfordshire County Council attended the event and said ‘This project shows an excellent partnership between Hertfordshire County Council, Woodlands Nursery and the contractors to create a new building to house this childcare facility for families in the Stevenage area. I am confident that the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Woodlands Nursery team in their new home will be a great success’.
